Nightbell is Button’s second food venture in Asheville, N.C. and comes on the heels of her highly successful and widely acclaimed restaurant Cúrate, named by GQ Magazine as one of the “Twelve Most Outstanding Restaurants of 2013.”
Her path to culinary innovation began when she left a career in neuroscience to pursue her passion and began working in a José Andrés restaurant. There she fell in love with restaurants, food, cooking, and Félix Meana, a service manager from elBulli, Ferran Adrià´s famous restaurant in Spain. After seven months working at elBulli, she and Felix returned to Asheville, family, and the business of opening their first restaurant, Curate.
Button has garnered national attention as a Semi-Finalist in 2012-2013 and a Finalist in 2014 for James Beard “Rising Star Chef” award and Food and Wine magazine's nominee as a “People’s Best New Chef.” She earned the title “Culinary Master” from Robb Report magazine, and was named as Star Chef’s “Rising Star Chef” for Sustainability in 2013.
Still early in her career, Chef Button focuses time each year on professional development, most recently working in the kitchens of Renee Redzepi’s restaurant Noma and Ferran and Albert Adrias’ restaurants Tickets and 41˚.
